Andy Standard, known to most as Leroy, and/or Roy was born in New York "City to the late Ruppert and Rosetta Standard, August 13, 1930. Though a descendant of Barbados, he was raised in this great city adn educated in the public school system.
A furrier by trade, he was a graduate of , the then, Central Neddle Trade School known at FIT. A musician by passion, he studied under the well know bassist, SLAM Strussel and played in a number of jazz groups in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Leroy left this earthly life ina the early morning hours of March 2, 2006 after a life lone battle with discord, discontent, and illness. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister Ruby, brother Kenneth.
